Community Energy Challenge

Otter Tail Power Company has chosen Rothsay to embark on an exciting and unique project where the goal is to reduce the community's energy consumption by 10-15% over the next 3-5 years. This is one of Otter Tail Power Company's 100-year anniversary Pay it Forward projects.

On April 9, 2009 the community of Rothsay gathered at the school gymnasium to celebrate being selected for Otter Tail Power Company’s Community Energy Challenge with a Kick-off Celebration. Governor Tim Pawlenty arrived with cheers from the crowd. He addressed those in attendance about the State’s commitment to energy efficiency and conservation and expressed his appreciation for Rothsay’s dedication to serving as a model community. According to Governor Pawlenty, “The best time to have taken action on energy issues would’ve been decades ago. The second best time is right now.” Click here for more.
