Parks and Recreation If you want to host a gathering, the Rothsay Community Center provides a full kitchen and large dining area for a nominal charge. During the summer, a large covered pavilion in the park is available for barbeques, birthday parties, and other get-togethers. American Legion Memorial Park Pioneer Prairie Park Summer and Winter Activities In the winter, children of all ages can go sledding down the large hill next to the baseball field. Rothsay residents who are snowmobile enthusiasts now have access to more than 270 miles of trails literally in their backyard. In 2008, the Otter Country Trail Association opened the "Rothsay Loop" trail directly behind the Powerhouse Bar and Grill. If it's a leisurely ride you're after, the trail that loops around the Rothsay area is just under 20 miles long. Or if you're looking for a fun-filled day trip with friends and family, the Rothsay Loop connects to several trails within Ottertail County. All the trails are maintained by OCTA and are open from December 1st through March 31st, with adequate snow cover. For more information on the Otter Country Trail Association, contact Rick Kraning in Fergus Falls. |
