If you want to host a gathering, the Rothsay Community Center provides a full kitchen and large dining area for a nominal charge. During the summer, a large covered pavilion in the park is available for barbeques, birthday parties, and other get-togethers.

American Legion Memorial Park
Rothsay's city park is one of the nicest in the area! The American Legion Memorial Park offers a shelter for picnics or other gatherings, basketball court, sand volleyball, baseball diamond, and lots of green space for frisbee golf or other fun activities. Families will appreciate the two playground areas with slides, merry-go-round, swings, and other fun facilities for young and old alike.

Pioneer Prairie Park
And for a more rustic adventure, check out Rothsay's Pioneer Prairie Park, where you will find pristine prairie, hiking trails, gently rolling hills, a meandering creek, and a picturesque footbridge. The park is a great place to unwind with a leisurely hike through some of Minnesota's most beautiful natural habitat.

Summer and Winter Activities
If it’s sporting activities you’re after, check out the Rothsay football and baseball athletic fields in the northwest corner of town. Summer activities include youth baseball and softball, followed by football games in the fall.

In the winter, children of all ages can go sledding down the large hill next to the baseball field. Rothsay residents who are snowmobile enthusiasts now have access to more than 270 miles of trails literally in their backyard. In 2008, the Otter Country Trail Association opened the "Rothsay Loop" trail directly behind the Powerhouse Bar and Grill. If it's a leisurely ride you're after, the trail that loops around the Rothsay area is just under 20 miles long. Or if you're looking for a fun-filled day trip with friends and family, the Rothsay Loop connects to several trails within Ottertail County. All the trails are maintained by OCTA and are open from December 1st through March 31st, with adequate snow cover.
